The lime market will remain at elevated levels for the next two to three weeks. The main growing region of Veracruz, Mexico will have limited supplies as harvesting transitions into new crops. The Cinco de Mayo holiday will increase U.S. demand. Expect prices to stabilize by early May, once holiday demand winds down and new crop production reaches volume levels.

• Supplies will remain tight for the next 10 to 20 days as we approach the Cinco de Mayo holiday
• Potential labor shortages during the holiday could limit production during the first week of May
• The harvesting regions of Veracruz and Tabasco, Mexico are in the lowest production period of the year
• Quality is good, but as current stocks are low, fruit will require more sorting for problems such as discoloration and scarring
• Large fruit (110- to 150-count sizes) will be limited when the new crop season starts
