UPDATE: CALIFORNIA STRAWBERRY SUPPLIES

Strong markets persist as strawberry plants are still recovering from last month’s hail storms in Oxnard and Santa Maria, California. Tight supplies are expected for the rest of the month.
Oxnard/Santa Maria, California
- Markon First Crop Strawberries are available
- Demand has increased as the Florida and Mexican seasons are ending
- Weather forecasts call for low evening/morning temperatures (in the 30◦-40◦ F range); daytime temperatures are forecast to be in the low to mid-60◦ range

Quality is good, but cooler weather continues to slow the ripening process
- Fruit color is taking longer than normal to reach specification levels
- Supplies remain limited
Mexico and Florida
- These seasons are ending; production is nearly finished
- Remaining supplies are being sold on local markets
