UPDATE: BELL PEPPERS

Green bell pepper prices are inching up; the crop is transitioning between Mexican growing regions. Florida volume is consistent. The California season has started in a light way. Ample supplies of red and yellow bell peppers are on the market; prices are low.
Green Bells
- Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green Bell Peppers are available

Mexican supplies are tight due to cooler evenings last month
- This week’s hot weather will increase volume in Sonora; production is wrapping up in the southern regions
- Size has decreased; extra-large peppers are commanding higher prices

Florida bell pepper production is steady
- Weather is favorable
- Suppliers are harvesting new fields
- Jumbo and extra-large sizes are most plentiful

The California growing season has started in the Coachella Valley
- Expect light production over the next two weeks, with the season hitting its stride by April 15
- Early harvesting will be heavily dominated by jumbo and large sizes
- Expect strong markets over the next two weeks; quality is excellent
Red and Yellow Bells
- MFC and ESS Red Bell Peppers are readily available
