Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions remain readily available in the Northwest. Texas-grown MFC Yellow Onion supplies are ramping up.
Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington

The market has inched up
- Demand has increased as the U.S. moves forward with restaurant re-openings
- Suppliers in the Northwest continue to react to the uncertainty of the Texas crop
- Growers are taking measures to ensure supplies last through April
- Quality is excellent with solid, globe-like shape, set skins, and firm texture
- Supplies will remain on the market into May
Texas
- Jumbo-size supplies dominate MFC Yellow Onions
- Fresh-run onions shipped out of Texas will have feathery skins and light color/exterior compared to Northwest storage onions
- Texas-grown MFC Red Onions will hit the market next week
- Texas onion growers continue to assess the damage caused by the February freeze
California
- The spring onion crop will start in the California desert region by late April
New Mexico
- Production will begin in early June
