Green Bells

• Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green Bell Peppers are readily available
• The Mexican growing region of Sinaloa is at its peak; the season will run through mid-May
  • Expect sufficient production and excellent quality; size is dominated by jumbo and extra-large peppers
  • Warm, sunny weather is forecast over the next two weeks
• Florida pepper production has been steady
• The California growing season is scheduled to start in early April
• Overall demand is weak; prices are low

Red and Yellow Bells

• MFC and ESS Red Bell Peppers are readily available
• Mexico is the primary growing region; yields are high
  • Supplies are ample supplies
  • Quality is good; size is dominated by jumbo and extra-large peppers
  • Growers add more shade houses every year reducing exposure to weather elements; increasing yields
• Florida produces fewer red and yellow bell peppers than California; the West Coast season will start in early May
• Overall prices are low
• It’s a good time to promote the bell pepper category
