Strawberry prices are on the rise. Valentine’s Day demand is ramping up. Stemmed strawberry volume remains extremely low in all areas.
Oxnard, California
- Forecasts call for rain from Saturday January 23 through next week
- More rain, low temperatures, and possible frost are expected the week of February 1
- Supplies will remain extremely limited; Mexican fruit is being transferred to help fill supply shortages
- Quality is good
Mexico
- Cooler weather persists, keeping size small and supplies tight
- Weather forecasts call for slightly warmer daytime temperatures next week
- Fruit is loading in South Texas, as well as Oxnard and Los Angeles, California
- Quality is good
Florida
- Supplies have increased slightly; cold weather is returning next week limiting stocks again
- Quality is good
