Offshore cantaloupe and honeydew melon prices are elevated due to inclement weather during the hurricane season in Central America. Expect high prices for the next three to four weeks.  

• Central America and Mexico are the primary growing regions at this time
• Offshore shipments into the U.S. are below-normal due to low yields
  • Hurricanes Eta and Lota pushed through Central American growing regions in November, stunting crops and affecting yields; jumbo sizes are extremely limited
  • Quality ranges from average to good; sugar levels range from 12 to 14 Brix
• Expect offshore melon markets to remain elevated over the next three to four weeks
• Mexican honeydew markets remain steady
  • Supplies are average
  • Quality is good
• Mexican cantaloupe supplies are extremely tight
