Lettuce prices remain low due to ample supplies and weak demand in the Arizona/California desert region.

Demand has eased
- The holiday pull is ending
- A Nor’easter storm system produced record-breaking snowfall in many parts of the Northeastern United States

Quality is very good, but expected to degrade in the coming weeks
- Sporadic growth crack and dense texture are present in some lots
- Epidermal blistering and frost damage are being observed at higher rates as lettuce ice persists in the desert growing regions
- Low temperatures with light-to-moderate lettuce ice are forecast through Tuesday, December 22
- Expect weak prices through the end of December
- Please note, COVID restrictions may greatly affect demand as foodservice establishments are forced to reduce operations
