Broccoli and cauliflower prices are rising as growers begin the transition south to the Arizona/California desert region.

• Suppliers are entering the last Salinas Valley and Santa Maria fields for this season
• Demand is strong; orders are being supplemented by Mexican product
• There will be an overlap in growing regions over the next three weeks, with limited quantities available in Arizona/California growing areas
• Cooler Salinas Valley temperatures have led to smaller head size due to slowed growth
• Expect active markets for the rest of November
