Green leaf and romaine prices are easing. Overall industry supplies remain limited.   

• Demand remains extremely strong
• Volume is being heavily impacted by the soilborne diseases Sclerotinia and Impatiens Necrotic Spot Virus that are reducing harvestable heads at the field level
• Salinas Valley’s erratic weather over the past two months has resulted in inconsistent field weights and yields; mildew pressure and seeder are present in some lots
• Production will start in the Arizona/California desert regions the week of November 2 and ramp up the weeks of November 9 and November 16
• Elevated markets are anticipated through early November, although select growers may offer lower prices as they finish harvesting their last fields in Salinas and look to move product prior to transition
