Green bell pepper prices will rise next week; supplies are tightening as the crop transitions to new growing regions. Red bell stocks are sufficient; prices expected to hold steady.

West Coast

• Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green and Red Bell Peppers are available; packer label supplies are being substituted as needed
• The Mexican bell pepper season has ended
• California desert green bell pepper supplies have been affected by inconsistent weather during the month of May
  • Yields are below normal
  • Supplies will increase in two weeks when the crop moves from the Imperial Valley to Bakersfield, California
• Red bells have not been affected; supplies are covering demand

East Coast

• MFC and ESS Green Bell Peppers are available
• Georgia is the primary growing region; expect increased volume out of the region over the next couple of weeks
• West Coast demand will shift to the east, keeping prices firm
