The Idaho potato market has stabilized. Demand for retail bags remains strong; weaker foodservice carton demand was the force driving down prices over the past three weeks.

• Expect a relatively unchanged carton market for the rest of the season
• Retail sales are forecast to slump while consumers use the potatoes they purchased in bulk in March
• Increased carton sales are predicted when restaurants to reopen
• New crop planting is wrapping up; harvesting is schedule to start in early August
