FROM THE FIELDS: Harvest Cancellations in the Desert Region

March 12, 2020
The Arizona/California desert growing region has received over 1.50” of rain since Tuesday, March 10. More rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout today with another .50”-.75” expected. Due to impassible field conditions and safety concerns most companies have cancelled harvest today.

Expect significant harvest delays and decreased yields as companies work through wet and muddy conditions over the next several days.

Markon inspectors will be monitoring field conditions as well as any quality and shelf-life concerns that may arise as a result of these back-to-back storms and will update further as needed.
