UPDATE: Tomatoes

Last week’s rain and this week’s cold weather have affected all tomato varieties in Mexico’s primary growing region of Culiacan, Sinaloa. Prices are rising; demand exceeds supply.
- Supplies are extremely tight in Nogales, Arizona and McAllen, Texas
- Cold weather and rain have slowed growth, caused damage, and delayed harvesting; quality is subpar
- The Florida tomato market will follow Mexico’s upward trend as demand increases; domestic supplies are limited
- Expect active tomato markets and short supplies for the rest of February
