Extreme rain and cold weather are affecting all tomato varieties in Mexico’s primary growing regions this week; prices are rising. Expect limited supplies through February.
- Mexico is the primary growing region; supplies crossing into Nogales, Arizona and South Texas are limited
- Inclement weather has slowed production and reduced overall yields
- Demand will shift to Florida, further tightening domestic stocks
- Expect elevated markets for the next several weeks
