FROM THE FIELDS: Lettuce Ice & Harvesting Delays

February 06, 2020
Harvesting operations for most Arizona/California desert row crop items will be delayed for a fourth consecutive morning as temperatures dropped into the low to upper-30s causing lettuce ice to form in many areas. Production and loading delays can be expected through at least Saturday, February 8, as cold wind and below normal temperatures remain in the forecast.

Markon inspectors will be monitoring quality and supply outlook closely for lettuce, tender leaf, and other desert crops and will update further as needed.
