FROM THE FIELDS: Extended Cold Weather in Desert Regions
December 20, 2019
For the fourth consecutive day, light to moderate lettuce ice delayed harvesting in the Arizona/California desert regions. Current forecasts call for continued low pressure systems that are expected to bring more lettuce ice over the next 10 days. Possible light rains may move through the Yuma Valley on Monday, December 23.
Markon inspectors are finding light epidermal blister in row crop items. We will continue to update as this cold snap moves through the desert harvesting regions.
