Cilantro

• Higher-than-normal temperatures and high winds are affecting some of California’s Central Coast growing regions (Santa Maria and Ventura County), increasing plant maturity and creating immature leaves that turn yellow/brown, then decay
• Expect an active market through November

Limes

• Markon First Crop (MFC) Limes are available
• Lime shipments (into South Texas) are slightly below normal levels this week due to wet weather
• The size curve continues to shift; prices for large sizes (110- to 150-count) are holding firm, while markets for smaller fruit (230- to 250-count) are much higher

Melons

• MFC Cantaloupes and Honeydews are limited; packer label is being substituted as needed
• Cantaloupe and honeydew supplies are limited; prices are climbing
• Quality issues are a concern in the desert growing region due to rain and hail
• The domestic season is forecast to end November 16
• Offshore fruit will begin arriving the week of November 18
