Domestic MFC Cantaloupe and Honeydew Melons are available. The crop is transitioning from California’s San Joaquin Valley to the Arizona/California desert growing region.

• MFC Cantaloupes will begin shipping from the desert the week of October 14; desert supplies of MFC Honeydew will hit the market Wednesday, October 16
  • Size curve is favoring large sizes; small sizes are very limited
  • Quality is good with adequate sugar levels, but desert cantaloupes typically have a green hue
• New crop melons are commanding higher prices; markets are rising
• New crop Mexican honeydews (crossing through Nogales, Arizona) will ramp up in late October
• Offshore melons will begin arriving in the U.S. in mid-November
