Idaho potato shippers will reduce production hours next week due to the Labor Day holiday. Packers will load by appointment only Saturday, August 31, and will be closed Sunday and Monday, September 1 and 2.  

Expect loading times to take longer than normal, reducing the hours suppliers can actually pack potatoes. This will increase the strain on the already short supply of 40- and 60-count cartons.
