UPDATE: Grapes

Markon First Crop (MFC) Lunch Bunch Grapes are available; quality is very good. Growers have begun to place stocks into storage to bridge the gap between the end of the California harvest (early November) and the beginning of the Chilean season (late December).

 

Lunch Bunch

  • MFC Lunch Bunch Grapes are available in 5- and 21-pound bags
    • Sugar levels range from 21 to 22 Brix
    • Quality is very good: flavor is sweet and texture is crunchy
  • Prices are stable, but will increase incrementally through December

 

Green Seedless

  • The green seedless Autumn King season will end in two weeks
    • Quality is good
    • Sugar levels average 18 Brix
  • The market will increase as most green seedless supplies will be depleted by Thanksgiving
    • A supply gap is expected between the California and Chilean seasons
    • Peruvian green seedless stocks will be substituted; prices will be substantially higher

 

Red Seedless

  • The red seedless Scarlet Royal season is winding down; supplies will be on the market for another 7 to 10 days
  • Crimson grapes will be the dominant red seedless variety through November and December
    • Flavor is sweet; sugar levels range from 21 to 22 Brix
    • Quality is good
    • Size ranges from large to extra large
  • Prices will continue to rise for the rest of the California season
