Domestic MFC Cantaloupe and Honeydew Melons are now in season. New crop domestic supplies are exhibiting excellent quality with firm texture, good shipping ability, and long shelf-life.

• The popular Origami cantaloupe variety is now shipping out of Brawley, California
  • Higher Brix, deep orange color, small seed cavity, and a thin rind are key attributes of this variety
  • Supplies are only available during the domestic season
• Domestic growers will transition harvesting north to California’s San Joaquin Valley in early July
• New crop melons are commanding slightly higher prices than offshore melons; however, prices are settling
