UPDATE SUMMARY: WEEK OF MAY 20, 2019

Citrus
- Unseasonable rain events in California’s Central Valley and Ventura County (California’s primary citrus growing regions) have reduced overall citrus volume
- Flexibility in size and grade may be needed for order coverage
- Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials Lemons and Oranges are available
Strawberries
- Unseasonable rain events occurred in the Santa Maria and Watsonville, California growing regions
- Bleeding, bruising, and water-damaged berries may be present in finished packs
- Expect lower volume and quality related issues over the next two weeks
Onions
- Limited supplies of MFC Onions are now available in New Mexico
- The Southern California MFC onion season will end the week of June 3; MFC Onions will transition to Central California the same week
- Fresh-run MFC Onions in South Texas will be available through the week of the June 3
- Washington storage crop MFC Onions will be depleted this week
Potatoes
- The Burbank variety will be shipped until new crop, field-run Norkotahs become available in early to mid-August
- 40- through 80-count stocks will require more lead-time to produce; expect active pricing
- 90- to 120-count potatoes dominate supplies; markets will remain steady
- Expect pricing and availability for No. 2-grade supplies to remain steady
