Blackberry and raspberry supplies are very limited due to high temperatures in the Salinas/Watsonville growing region. Prices are elevated. Production has drastically decreased and harvesting has been curtailed due to the abnormally warm weather.

• Demand exceeds supply; volume is very low
• Quality will vary: bleeding, bruising, and soft texture are concerns
• Limited quantities of Mexican blackberries and raspberries are available for loading in South Texas and Southern California; volume levels are not expected until mid-October
