Markon First Crop (MFC) Premium Iceberg Lettuce items are limited; Markon Best Available (MBA) is being substituted as needed.

Cooler temperatures and overcast days have slowed iceberg growth, which has resulted in inconsistent pack weights throughout the industry. As the growing season moves into fall, different varieties are utilized that can withstand the short days and longer, cold nights which typically produce large, puffy heads and lighter pack weights.

Markon Inspectors are working with growers to secure the best fields and weights, but MFC Premium Lettuce will be limited over the next several days; MBA will be packed as finished cartons do not meet MFC minimum weight requirements.
