UPDATE: Lemons
July 05, 2018
Lemon supplies remain extremely tight. Substituting sizes and grade will aid in order coverage. Domestic seasons are winding down, while offshore harvesting is off to a slow start due to unfavorable growing conditions. Strong demand and limited availability will continue to drive up prices.

-
High temperatures are forecast in California’s coastal growing region, increasing plant maturity and shortening the season
- Shelf-life is shorter due to California coastal growing conditions during the summer months
- Order lead-time is highly encouraged
- Markon recommends ordering for quick turns
-
Expect prices to continue climbing through the summer
- Limited quantities of offshore Chilean and Argentine lemons are available
- Color, packs, flavor, and pricing are comparable to domestic fruit
- Mexican-grown lemons will hit the market in late July/early August
