FROM THE FIELDS: Light Lettuce Ice in the Desert Regions

Light lettuce ice developed in the desert regions for the seventh consecutive day as temperatures dipped into the mid 30s. Up to one hour delays are being reported as crews wait for the ice to thaw before harvest can begin.
A chance of rain in the eastern Yuma regions is expected with up to .15” possible tonight into tomorrow, February 29 with more passing showers possible Saturday, March 2. High winds up to 40 mph are expected to accompany this latest system with the coldest temperatures expected tonight with moderate to heavy lettuce ice tomorrow morning.
