The Washington State Department of Health announced that 18 people in Washington and Oregon have been diagnosed with Salmonella linked to consumption of pre-cut fruit containing watermelon or cantaloupe purchased between October 25^th and December 1^st from retail establishments in both Washington and Oregon.

What we know:

• Washington state health officials say a Salmonella outbreak involving pre-cut fruit sold has sickened 18 people
  • 16 people in Washington and two in Oregon
  • Implicated retail establishments including QFC, Fred Meyer, Rosauers and Central Market
• Implicated pre-cut watermelon, cantaloupe, or fruit mixes containing watermelon or cantaloupe were purchased between from around Oct. 25 to Dec. 1
• This investigation is ongoing
