Bell Peppers
- Production will begin in Florida by mid-November
- West Coast harvesting has transitioned to Coachella, California; supplies are limited
- Mexican bell stocks (into Arizona and South Texas) will ramp up by mid-November
Cauliflower
- Markon Essentials Cauliflower is available
- Growers are experiencing supply shortages due to weather issues
Carrots
- Markon First Crop (MFC) Jumbo Carrots will be limited over the next month
- Supplies of packer label table carrots are sufficient and can be used as a substitution
- Expect elevated markets over the next month as supplies increase
Cucumbers and Squashes
- Florida production will start over the next 10 days; expect limited supplies
- Mexican harvesting is underway
- Markets will climb over the next three weeks due to strong demand
Onions
- MFC Onions are available from Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington
- Size is dominated by medium, followed by jumbo, in all colors and all regions
- Red and yellow onions are expected to be available in Colorado through late March 2018
Strawberries
- MFC Strawberries are limited; Markon Best Available is being substituted as needed
- The first significant rain event of California’s fall/winter growing season is forecast for this weekend; quality will suffer
- Prices are poised to rise even further following wet weather
- Expect limited supplies
Tomatoes
- The market is escalating as California production comes to an end
- The impact of Hurricane Irma will reduce Florida volume over the next six weeks, creating a demand that exceeds the supply market
- Roma stocks are being used to supplement round tomato shortages
