FROM THE FIELDS: More Lettuce Ice in Salinas, California
October 13, 2017
Temperatures once again dropped into the mid-30s this morning throughout the Salinas Valley, causing a second consecutive day of lettuce ice. Harvesting crews will be delayed for one to two hours or until crops are completely thawed; some loading delays may also occur.
Temperatures are expected to rise over the weekend, from the low to mid-80s in the day and the mid-50s at night.
