UPDATE: Idaho Potatoes

Markon First Crop (MFC) Idaho Burbank Potatoes are available. New crop, field-run MFC Norkotahs will be available in early to mid-August.
Storage Crop
- The Burbank variety will be shipped until new crop, field-run Norkotahs become available early to mid-August

Quality is good: pressure bruising and hollow heart are sporadic issues
- Storage crop quality will weaken as the season nears the end
- Sheds will need to run more raw product to pack the same number of cartons, reducing available supplies
- Size profile is dominated by small-size potatoes (80- to 100-count stocks), although large sizes (40- to 70-count supplies) are more readily available than in recent weeks
- Prices are steady
New Crop Norkotahs and Burbanks
- New crop Norkotah harvesting will begin in early to mid-August
- New crop Burbank production will start in late September/early October
- Current estimates are approximately 10 days behind schedule, compared to seasonal norms
White Russets
- Storage crop White Russets will be available through September 1
- New crop harvesting will begin in late September/early October
- New crop White Russets will be available to load October 30; this variety must go through a 28-day sweat process before shipment
