UPDATE: Limes

February 16, 2015

Persian lime production from the growing region of Veracruz, Mexico typically decreases during the winter growing season (November through April). Prices will continue to rise and supplies will tighten until the spring harvest starts in April.

Shipments from Mexico into the United States have been declining over the last few weeks due to seasonal downturns in production

Retail demand will increase as spring holidays approach, pushing up prices

Mexico is the primary year-round lime source for Canada and the United States

Recent dry conditions have resulted in improved lime quality, including dark green color and refreshing flavor
