The onion market remains steady at low levels.  Markon First Crop Onions are readily available out of Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Packer label onions from Mexico will begin shipping out of Texas the last week of January. 

• The domestic crop is dominated by medium and jumbo sizes due to higher-than-usual temperatures during the growing season; excessive heat stunts the growth and maturity of onions, preventing bulbs from reaching their full size potential  

• Expect prices to remain at their respective levels through January
