Lime prices will increase over the next two to three weeks. As the winter season approaches in Veracruz, Mexico, growing challenges including cooler weather, rain, increased cloud cover, and shorter daylight hours will slow production and limit harvesting windows. Demand will strengthen from the U.S., Mexico, and Europe; available labor will decline. Overall volume shipped into the U.S. will fall over the next week and remain at low levels through early January.

• Markon First Crop Limes are available from Mexico (loading in McAllen, Texas)
• Industry volume will decline over the next three weeks due to challenging growing conditions and a limited labor force
• Prices will rise into the mid-teens by next week and could reach the low 20s by late November
• Medium sizes (200- to 230-count fruit) are in high demand; supplies will be extremely limited
• Current quality is excellent, however as stocks diminish, fruit will require more sorting for problems like discoloration and scarring
