FOOD SAFETY UPDATE: Prime Time International Recalls Cucumbers Due to Salmonella

November 09, 2016

This update does not apply to any Markon First Crop, Ready-Set-Serve, or Markon Essentials products.

Prime Time International is recalling cucumbers due to potential contamination with Salmonella. The recalled product has a Julian Pack Date of 280 and an Agricola Maui stamp and was shipped on or before October 11th, 2016. The recall was initiated after a random sampling by Food & Drug Administration (FDA) officials at an end customer location yielded a positive result for the pathogen. Although the probability of implicated product remaining in the supply chain is very low, the product is being recalled out of an abundance of caution.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with these products at this time.

No Markon products are included in this recall nor did Markon purchase any of the implicated items from Prime Time International. Please remember to physically check your inventory to ensure none of the affected products are in your warehouse.

Click here to review an official statement from Prime Time International notifying Markon that we did not receive any of the implicated product. As of this time no official notice has been posted on the FDA website.

Consumers with questions may contact Prime Time International’s food safety department at LRamirez@primetimeproduce.com.

Markon will continue to update members should more information become available.
