Texas Rio Red grapefruits are back in season. Markon’s supplier of fresh-cut grapefruit will begin transitioning into new crop Texas Rio supplies the week of October 31. During this transition there may be some variability in the internal color of fresh-cut grapefruit items due to mixed varieties of raw product.

• Expect mild flavor in early season Texas Rios
• Flesh color will be vibrant red
• Color will deepen and flavor will sweeten as the season progresses
• The Texas Rio grapefruit season is expected to run through May
