The Brussels sprouts market is inching up due to reduced supplies in Central Mexico.

• Baja Mexico, Central Mexico, and Oxnard, California are the current primary growing regions
  • The Santa Maria season is scheduled to start in early June
  • Salinas Valley production will follow in early July
• Quality is diminished in supplies from Central Mexico due to elevated temperatures that are causing discoloration and increasing insect pressure
  • Growing conditions in Baja and Oxnard remain ideal
  • Markon orders are being filled with product from Baja and Oxnard for best quality
• Expect prices to continue rising over the next two weeks, until the Santa Maria harvest begins
