UPDATE: Weather in Mexico

February 11, 2020
Inclement weather continues to affect several commodity crops in Mexico’s primary growing regions. Reduced harvesting hours, low yields, and fewer supplies have caused prices to rise.
  • Lower-than-normal temperatures and recent rain have slowed the harvest of several commodities in Culiacan, Sinaloa, and Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, including:
    • Chile peppers
    • Cucumbers
    • Red bell peppers
    • Squash
    • Tomatillos
    • Tomatoes (all varieties)
    • Yellow bell peppers
  • Florida has been experiencing a heat wave that started this weekend and will persist through Thursday, February 13; this warm weather will boost volume
  • Expect elevated prices for the month of February
