UPDATE: Truck Operator Strike in Mexico

January 06, 2017

The protests over fuel prices in Mexico persist, although the impact on inbound shipments is concentrated along the Texas/Mexican border. Crossings through Nogales, Arizona are expected to continue with few to no disruptions. Road blockades and vehicle operator strikes remain focused in the states of Chihuahua, Durango, and Morelos, Mexico, located between the primary growing regions in Michoacán, Sinaloa, and Veracruz.

Prices are expected to rise over the next week as the issue continues, with the most immediate impact affecting the green onion, lime, and strawberry markets.
