October 21, 2015

Tropical Storm Patricia is expected to strengthen into a hurricane Thursday, October 22 before making landfall on the West Coast of Mexico on Friday, October 23. Wind damage and heavy rain totaling 6-12 inches (up to 20 inches in higher elevations) is forecast for the states of Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, and Guerrero.

  • Damage to young plants may cause shortages and high prices for December and January
  • Moisture may get pulled into the south-central U.S. this weekend and add to heavy rain forecasts for Texas and nearby states
  • Expect higher prices for commodities loading in South Texas next week
  • Markon will continue to monitor the storm’s development and report any new activity
