UPDATE: Tropical Storm Activity

October 20, 2015

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity is forecast to move across the southwestern Gulf of Mexico over the next several days and continue northwestward. Later in the week, energy will combine from the Gulf of Mexico and a developing tropical depression in the Eastern Pacific Ocean to bring heavy rain into the South Central United States.

  • Expect prices for items from Mexico (into South Texas), including cabbage, carrots, chile peppers, cilantro, citrus, pineapples, and tomatoes to be higher next week
  • Harvesting delays in South Texas will result in tighter cabbage, cilantro, chile pepper, citrus, and corn supplies next week
  • Markon will continue to monitor the storm’s development and report any new activity
