- Harvesting will be erratic as growers dodge showers and fruit struggles to mature
- Plants are damaged from continued weather issues; high winds are causing bloom drop which will prolong shortages
- Growers are sorting out bad quality, further reducing yields
- Expect tight supplies through February when production is forecast to increase
Mexico
- Supplies will continue to increase next week, but prices will remain at elevated levels
- Tight East Coast stocks are moving demand to Mexican fruit
- Storm activity in December and January pushed back production; peak harvesting levels won’t be reached until mid-February
- Prices that decreased recently, including cherry, grape, and Roma varieties, will be higher next week due to a shorter production period and strong demand
- Quality is excellent; order early for best color
