Discontinuation of Ready-Set-Serve (RSS) Cole Slaw Kit

• RSS Cole Slaw Kit (item number 91765) will no longer be available in brand starting November 1
• The product will remain available in the Taylor Farms label; product information is below:

Iceberg

• The market is escalating; romaine prices will follow suit over the next several weeks
• Markon First Crop (MFC) Premium Iceberg and Romaine are sporadic; Markon Best Available (MBA) will be substituted as necessary
• High temperatures experienced over the past four to five weeks, followed by cooler-than-normal weather, have reduced yields in the Salinas Valley
• Expect limited supplies and elevated markets through the transition from the Salinas Valley to the Arizona/California desert growing region (in mid-November) 

Melons

• Cantaloupe and honeydew melon prices will increase as production moves to the California/Arizona desert region
• Large-size melons will dominate fall crops (9- and 12-count cantaloupes and 5- and 6-count honeydews)
• Quality remains excellent; however, desert variety cantaloupes may exhibit green casts during the fall season
• Guatemalan fruit will be available on the East Coast in mid-November and on the West Coast in early December

Oranges

• Prices are very high
• The California Valencia season has finished; overall stocks are extremely limited
• Texas and Florida harvests have been delayed due to weather
• MFC and Markon Essentials Oranges are not available; new crop California Navels will not begin shipping until the week of October 30

Strawberries

• MFC Strawberries are limited; MBA is being substituted as needed; New crop supplies are ample in Santa Maria, California
• Size is small due to a recent heat wave
• Long-stem strawberries are extremely limited
• Prices are steady to slightly lower than last week
