Brussels Sprouts
- Expect the market to inch up a bit more due to holiday demand and lower volume over the next several weeks
- Once Mexican supplies increase in late November, prices will ease
Oranges
Navel
- Growers are in production; all sizes are available
- Color continues to deepen each day, but fruit will need to be exposed to ethylene gas for approximately three weeks
- Sugar levels are increasing daily; current fruit ranges from 10 to 11 Brix
Valencia
- All harvesting is expected to be finished within the next 10 days
- Color is a much deeper orange than new crop Navels
- Sugar levels are in the 12.5 to 13.5 Brix range
Potatoes
- Idaho’s freeze event, occurring the week of October 9, 2019, affected roughly 15% of the entire Idaho potato crop
- Both varieties, Norkotahs and Burbanks, may need to be utilized in orders to prevent shortages now through April 2020
- Expect consistently higher prices than last season
