Limes
- There is an atypically significant price spread between large- and small-size fruit
- Lower-than-normal amounts of rain in the primary growing region of Veracruz, Mexico have affected maturity of 110- and 150-count supplies; 230 and 250-count sizes are more plentiful
- Expect elevated prices for large limes over the next four to six weeks; the market for smaller sizes will ease
California Strawberries
- Markon First Crop (MFC) Strawberries are available in Santa Maria; quality is very good
- New crop Salinas/Watsonville supplies are ramping up; MFC Strawberies will be available the week of May 19
- The Oxnard growing season will end over the next several weeks; most suppliers have stopped harvesting for the season
- Ample stocks are keeping prices steady at low levels
