Brussels Sprouts
- Yields are lower in both California and Mexico; rain and cold weather over the past several months have stunted growth and delayed planting schedules
- The Salinas/Castroville season will begin later this month, but stocks will remain tight; heavy winter rains delayed planting and slowed maturity
- Volume will remain extremely low through June; expect high prices
Onions
- New crop, fresh-run Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions are readily available in California’s Imperial Valley and South Texas
- The MFC Idaho/Oregon storage crop season will conclude this week
- Storage crop MFC Yellow Onions will be available in Washington through the month of May; MFC Red Onions have been depleted
- Limited supplies of MFC Yellow Onions will become available in New Mexico next week; MFC Red Onions will start shipping the week of June 3
