Lemons
- Rain has created an abundance of large-size fruit in the California growing regions
- Growers have been unable to harvest in wet, muddy conditions
- Small sizes will be limited through June, when the Chilean season begins
- The crop is now dominated by 140-count and larger sizes; 165-count and smaller fruit is limited
- Flexibility in size and grade may be needed for order coverage
Onions
- Extremely limited supplies of Mexican red, yellow, and white onions are being shipped into Texas
- The Texas-grown, fresh-run onion season is behind schedule due to inclement weather and will not begin until early April
- Several smaller Northwestern onion packers have concluded their production seasons ahead of schedule, prior to the typical April target dates
- The red, yellow, and white onion markets remain active in the Northwest; prices are rising
