Celery
- California’s Central Coast weather has been warm during the day, but cooler at night, slowing maturity
- Both commodity and value-added yields remain low
- Production is expected to start in Michigan in July; overall stocks will increase at that time
- Mexican product is also on the market, but volume is low
Limes
- Rain in the main growing region of Martinez de la Torre, Veracruz will delay harvesting and slow production, reducing shipments into the U.S. next week
- Weather-related quality issues such as oil spotting and stylar will increase
- Markon recommends ordering for quick turns
Onions
- New Mexico’s Hatch Valley growing region received more than three inches of rain this week
- High temperatures and dry conditions will increase volume by early next week
- Onions will require extra time to wash and dry at processing sheds, resulting in loading delays
- Lead-time and flexibility will be needed for order coverage
Seedless Lemons
- Domestic fruit is available year-round
- Supplies typically tighten in June/July, when Oxnard, California is the main growing region
- Size structure is comparable to conventional lemons, depending on weather
- Prices typically range from $3.00 to $5.00 per case
