Avocados

  • Growers in Mexico have transitioned to the summer Flora Loca crop
  • Peruvian imports will remain available through September
  • Supplies will be limited through August
  • Expect elevated markets until Mexico’s fall crop starts in September

Cilantro

  • Ready-Set-Serve (RSS) Washed & Trimmed Cilantro is sporadic due to erratic quality; packer label will be substituted as needed
  • Hot, humid weather in the Southern California growing regions is creating quality and shelf-life concerns
  • Volume is low; high temperatures continue to affect growth and decrease yields
  • Prices are rising

Garlic

  • RSS Peeled Garlic from California is available in 4/5- and 5-pound packs
  • Supplies are expected to remain adequate for the foreseeable future
  • Despite increased stocks, California garlic prices are not expected to ease much this season due to strong demand
  • The California garlic market remains elevated; markets for imported product are much lower than those in California
