Onions

• Strong demand for red, yellow, and white onions persists 
• Expect prices to continue to inch up over the next few weeks, then level off in February and March
• Production schedules were cut short over the holiday season, reducing volume

Red Bell Peppers

• Favorable weather in Mexico is increasing maturity; supplies crossing into the U.S. are increasing
• Florida production remains limited
• Markon advises keeping inventory turns tight to avoid sitting on high-priced product
• Prices will continue to ease over the next several weeks (barring any major weather events)

White Russet Potatoes

• White Russet potatoes will not be available until March 4, 2019  
• Expect an extended supply gap due to crop failure
• The 2017 seed crop was extremely limited, resulting in fewer acres planted for the 2018/2019 season
